About

Malay College Youth Development Summit

The Malay College Youth Development Summit (MCYDS) is a programme worthy of its existence as it is an important platform in the development of human capital in line with the second aspiration contained in the National Education Blueprint emphasizing on the building of towering personality, character building as well as developing students with competitive outlook.

Through the history of the world, we find that the greatest heroes have always been those who have risked their lives in the defense of their country.

While the youth today enjoy their freedom in heritage, they must realize the amount of sacrifices the freedom fighters did without any second thought. And sad to say, we notice their sacrifices seem to have a very little value among the young generation.

As a true quote which says, “We realize the importance of a thing when it’s taken away from us”, this is the exact case with today’s youth. Most of them lack the sense of patriotism within them and failed to realize the true value of freedom. Though we should have patriotic feelings for our motherland, we should always avoid doing injury to others.

Keeping this in mind, the summit aims to encourage young leaders to do positives, good for his country and her people. A country needs all of us in various spheres. We must not only strive for our own good but for the good of the country as a whole. This patriotism is effective and practical, and this is the patriotism we should try to cultivate.
